NMSU Evolution: 2007 Microsoft Office
NMSU is planning the transition to the 2007 Microsoft Office applications
on all NMSU campuses. Communication between all affected parties has been
initiated to help determine the necessary steps. This process will help to
keep our systems up to date and work towards a unified software platform at NMSU.
Tools available include:
In all ICT labs, the Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for Word,
Excel, and PowerPoint 2007 File Formats has been downloaded so that
Office 2003 can read Office 2007 documents (excluding 2007 Access).
This will enable students and staff to read both 2003 and 2007 documents
in the labs with no visible difference until NMSU completes the
conversion on campus.
The Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel, and
PowerPoint 2007 File Formats is available from Microsoft at no charge
and can be found by following
this link
. There is also a tip sheet available on the
ICT Software Site
that will walk you through the downloading steps. If you need assistance,
please contact the ICT Help Desk at (575) 646-1840.
If a faculty or staff member’s department is under the Microsoft
Campus Agreement (MCA), they can checkout software and upgrade to the
2007 Microsoft Office Suite. MCA software installed on participating
departmental machines can be used by ALL NMSU faculty, staff, and
students. For more information on the Microsoft Campus Agreement, or
to see if your department participates, please visit

or call the ICT Software Office at (575) 646-1840.
